Schools Cultural Arts Conversation

Maidstone Museum’s Learning Team are working in partnership with Artswork, the Bridge Organisation for the South East for Arts Council England, and Valley Invicta Primary School at Kings Hill to develop resources and good practice with schools in the Maidstone and Tonbridge areas.

The aim of the forum is to connect with local schools and to support them in improving cultural capital requirements, prepare for Ofsted Deep Dives in the arts subjects, to capture needs and provide training opportunities for teachers. We will also support schools applying for their ArtsMark and share other opportunities for connecting with culture.

This page is to share resources and information, and relevant the links to book onto upcoming sessions.

Thank you to those who attended previous sessions.

The next session will be; Wednesday 6th October 2021. (this is rescheduled from original September date) The theme is ‘Making Space for Creativity’.  We will be looking at making as art space – dedicated art rooms, space in classrooms or other ideas.

We are looking for around 4 teachers who would like a 5 min sot to share how they have made or use an art space within their school. If you are a school with a dedicated art space and/or teacher and could share the practicalities, advantages/disadvantages, how it was set up and would be happy to share this in a 5 min presentation (could be simply by ‘showing us round’ on camera) please email me by the 1st October.  Without participants contributions it could be a short meeting!
