Find out more about how your institution can loan our collections

As part of our aim to further access to the 600,000 artefacts and specimens stored at Maidstone Museum, we welcome requests from other UK Accredited or Registered museums and galleries (or a recognised overseas equivalent) to display items from the exhibitions and store rooms.

Requests for loans should be submitted to the Registrar at:

The Registrar
Maidstone Museum & Bentlif Art Gallery
St. Faith’s Street
ME14 1LH

We will only lend collection items to other institutions provided they meet the appropriate standards for access, security, environmental, and safety criteria. Loan requests are subject to a formal approval procedure in order that we can ensure the ongoing care of the objects. This policy explains how to apply to borrow objects, the approvals procedure, and the conditions that a borrower will be expected to meet in order for the loan to proceed as well as the potential limitations on loans.

We are unable to lend to private individuals. For more details and guidance on how to request a loan, please download our Loans Policy.
