Group visits for schools

There are three types of visit you can book for schools and groups coming to the museum, including an Outreach option.

THEMED WORKSHOPS

60-minute sessions led by our Learning Team on a wide variety of topics. Prices from £90 per class. In museum-led workshops, our team lead ‘hands-on’ sessions that include handling of objects, artefacts, or specimens.

Self Guided VISIT ONLY

On a self-guided visit, you manage your own session as you wish. Although self-guided, we request you book a date and time, and inform us of numbers, to ensure there is ample space in the galleries. If you wish to book a lunch room, it must be done at time of booking. There is a cost of £20 per hour for this. Please note: We have limited space and schools booking workshops have priority for lunch space.

OUTREACH

We are able to bring some of our sessions to your school and run the workshops in your classroom/hall. These sessions run in the same way as museum-based sessions, and use the museum’s objects, artefacts, and specimens. Please note: Not all our workshops can come out of the museum as some are gallery based. Prices from £200.

CRAFTS

We also offer a selection of craft workshops designed to compliment the main workshops. Please contact us for those currently available.
