Lady with mask and seated child
£15.00
Artist: Shunsen, Katsukawa (1762-1830)
Title: Lady with Mask and Seated Child
Date: Edo Period
Shunsen is thought to have been a pupil of Katsukawa Shunsho. His work is rare and therefore little is known about his output. This print shows a lady holding a noh theatre mask with a young boy. The boy is dressed in the outfit of a sambaso dancer and in front of him are Japanese hand bells known as ‘suzu’.
