Find out more about the magnificent touring and temporary exhibitions appearing at Maidstone Museum
Exhibitions
Exhibitions at Maidstone Museum include a host of subjects and works that guarantee the chance to witness something new and exciting. Our temporary exhibition gallery – as well as the westspace – gives local and international artists the opportunity to showcase their works throughout the year. Our programme of eclectic temporary exhibitions incorporates a number of styles and artistic approaches, and is continually updated during the year to ensure that there is always something different to see during your visit. From traditional art exhibitions to photography retrospectives, themed collections to costume displays, you can be assured that the temporary exhibitions cover a broad array of topics. In addition, we always aim to deliver a summer exhibition that helps keep children entertained, with activities to complement the displays.
Maidstone Museum attracts many of the country’s best touring exhibitions, providing you with the chance to explore magnificent works of art and fascinating objects. Our collaborations with, amongst others, the V&A, the British Museum, and the Cartoon Museum have provided special exhibitions, and we also work closely with many other special exhibition creators to bring you some very unique and unusual displays. We also have our own touring exhibitions from the Museum collections of Japanese prints and Albert Goodwin artworks!
What’s more, to complement the exhibitions, we run related workshops and other special events. Please check out our events pages for more information.
