Accused of Witchcraft: Remembering Maidstone’s Forgotten Victims

Wed 9th Sep 2026 - 19:00 - 20:30

Talks

The people accused, the fears that drove it, and what their stories still tell us today.

In a darker chapter of Maidstone’s history, ordinary people were accused of witchcraft, tried, and in some cases executed. This thought-provoking evening with Cllr Claire Kehily explores who they were, the social pressures and beliefs that made accusations possible, and why remembering these stories still matters.
