Historic setting with flexibility and warmth
Located within the original Tudor manor house, the Withdrawing Room features wood panelling and a large historic fireplace. It adapts easily between daytime use and evening events, creating an atmospheric events venue within the heart of Maidstone Museum.
Dark timber panelling, an imposing fireplace and exposed roof structure give the room a powerful sense of history.
The generous proportions allow the space to move easily between seated presentations, informal gatherings and evening receptions.
As daylight fades, timber panelling and historic details create a truly striking setting for evening events.
The Withdrawing Room is equally suited to receptions, private celebrations, talks and professional events, offering one of the Museum’s most characterful settings.
The room supports a variety of seated (capacity 50) and standing (capacity 60) layouts depending on the style of your event.
Yes. It works beautifully throughout the day, while evening events benefit from the atmosphere created by the timber panelling and historic architecture.
Many guests are drawn to its Tudor origins and distinctive character, making it a popular choice for occasions where the setting plays an important part in the experience.
