This print is signed by the brush of Toyokuni. A late Edo period print, it takes advantage of the wider range of synthetic colours then available. Kunisada was a successful artist who is best known for his portraits of kabuki actors (yakusha-e) and beautiful women (bijinga). This series is thought to be the last bijinga series produced by Kunisada.
