Two travellers arrive at ni-o gate guarding a Buddhist temple. The term ni-o stands for the benevolent kings, Unygo on the left and Aygo on the right of the entrance. The warrior kings represent birth and death and protect the temple, guarding against evil spirits, demons and thieves.
