Title: Clovelly

This watercolour of the sweep of the 14th century quay in Clovelly has a fresh summery feel. Clovelly was an area that Goodwin knew well and was a favourite place to paint during the years the family lived at ilfracombe (1876-1906). Following their move to Bexhill in Sussex, Goodwin continued to return to the area when visiting his daughter Edytha’s family at Twitchen House in nearby Morthoe, Devon.
