Summer Make It! Crafts 2026

Activity/Craft

This summer we have 5 weeks of Make it craft activities each linked to one of three themes.  We have a new exhibition called ‘Hollywood Rome’ so one craft each week links to this theme. The other crafts are Dinosaur themed and Music themed.

Tickets available here. (£3.75 per child per activity – booking recommended)

Ticket sales end at 3pm the day before the session.  Remaining tickets will be available on the day at reception.

There will also be themed trails around the museum with a special badge as a prize. (£2 per child includes a pen – pay at the reception desk)

Week 1;  28-30 July

Tuesday 29 July;  Make a Dino Pencil Pot (dino themed)

Wednesday 30 July;  Make a Roman Soldier (Hollywood Rome themed)

Thursday 31 July;  Make a pretend guitar to play along with your favourite music (music themed)

 

Week 2; 4-6 August

Tuesday 4 August; Make your own musical Rain Stick (music themed)

Wednesday 5 August; Make your own Ballooning Dinosaur (dino themed)

Thursday 6 August; Make and wear your own Roman Helmet (Hollywood Rome themed)

 

Week 3; 11-13 August

Tuesday 11 August; Create your own Roman Shield (Hollywood Rome themed)

Wednesday 12 August; Make your own Drum on a stick (music themed)

Thursday 13 August; Make and play a Dino Skittles game (dino themed)

 

Week 4; 18-20 August

Tuesday 18 August; Make a dino headdress to wear (dinosaur themed)

Wednesday 19 August; Make a Roman inspired sword (Hollywood Rome themed)

Thursday 20 August; Make a wooden spoon puppet of your favourite pop star/musician (music themed)

 

Week 5: 25-27 August

Tuesday 25 August; Make your own Microphone (music themed)

Wednesday 26 August; Make a dino tail to wear (dinosaur themed)

Thursday 27  August; Make a Roman chariot (Hollywood Rome themed)

 

 

3 sessions per day

Session 1: 10.15am– 11.15am

Session 2: 11.30am – 12.30pm

Session 3: 1.30pm – 2.30pm

Ideal for ages 4 – 11 years

£3.75 per child per session. An adult must stay with child/ren. Activities take 30-50 mins to complete.

Entry only with ticket. Please bring ticket either printed out or on your mobile device

Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the museum.
