Are you a Scrabble champion? A wannabe Chess grandmaster? Or a Monopoly megalomaniac?
Game Plan: Board Games Rediscovered celebrates the joy, excitement and occasional frustration of playing board games. Containing over 100 objects displayed chronologically, this exhibition looks at the way in which games have always reflected the world around us and the importance of games and game playing in people’s lives.
Alongside current family favourites such as Cluedo and Trivial Pursuit, and traditional games like chess, the exhibition will focus on the last 500 years from the first illustrated race game, the 16th century Game of Goose, to the most recent version of Monopoly.
You can get ‘hands-on’ throughout the exhibition, learn about different kinds of game and discover what sort of player you are!
Throughout the summer holidays you can let everyone know what type of game player you are by making your own Game Face Badge! Activity available every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 25 July – 1 September from 10.30am – 12.30pm as part of paid entry to the exhibition.
