Volunteers’ Week

Maidstone Museum
18th Jun 2014
By Maidstone Museum

National Volunteers Week, and its 30th anniversary occurred from 1 – 7 June giving us an opportunity to thank volunteers (even more than usual) for their contributions across the volunteering sector http://volunteersweek.org/.

Our volunteers contributions this year have had a massive impact on the museum, not only in large projects such as the office clearances and moves, reorganisation of the stores, photography, consolidation of stores, but also the ongoing and newer projects including collections reviews and digitisation, assistance with temporary exhibitions, research, etc. All of our volunteers hard work is greatly appreciated, and we thank all of them for the time and effort they give so generously.

We have a vibrant, active, knowledgeable and enthusiastic team of volunteers who are a real asset to the museum, and enable us to do more exciting, innovative and beneficial work not only improving the museum and the service we can provide, but also its impact and engagement with the community more widely.
