A new character, Gihei, a weapons supplier, is introduced. His loyalty to the revenge plot is tested and he divorces his wife Osono, to ensure that she isn’t disgraced by association because of the plot. Osono’s hair is cut to prevent her fro remarrying, allowing Gihei to later reclaim his former wife.
