Stitch a Story: Handmade Bookmarks

Bought lots of new books as part of Maidstone Lit Fest? Treat yourself with a relaxed stitching workshop to create your own bookmark. Inspired by bookshelves and well‑loved stories, you’ll create your own stitched textile bookmark, perfect for marking the pages of your favourite read.

Kent‑based textile artist Anne Kelly (Anne Kelly Textiles) will guide you through the process, using felt, fabric strips and simple embroidery techniques to build up colourful, book‑inspired designs. No previous stitching experience is needed – just bring your enthusiasm for making and a love of books.
