I’m Cara and I’ve been attending Cur8 for approximately a year, during which the many objects around the museum have continued to surprise and fascinate me. Out of all the different objects, however, I’ve settled on this one. This is a Carcharocles megalodon – an upper tertiary shark tooth. Not only because of its fearsome appearance – that naturally attracts an awed and intrigued audience – but also because of the reminder that it brings; of how similar yet completely different life was millions of years ago, and how it will continue to change and adapt in the millions of years that follow.
