An exhibition of 50 watercolours exploring landscape and architecture from around Britain and Europe
This exhibition explores the work of Albert Goodwin, drawing on watercolours from Maidstone Museums’ collection to examine his distinctive approach to landscape painting and his place within British art at the turn of the twentieth century.
Born in Maidstone and a prolific exhibitor during his lifetime, Goodwin was a member of the Royal Watercolour Society and was championed by John Ruskin. His work reflects a range of influences, from J. M. W. Turner to the Pre-Raphaelite circle, combining close observation with an imaginative sensibility.
The exhibition presents a carefully selected group of original works on paper, offering a visually focused and academically grounded exhibition suitable for a range of venues.
Price: £2,250 per four-week hire period (flexible options also available).
