By Car: From the M20 take junction 7 and head towards Maidstone Town Centre and Maidstone East Train Station. Follow the brown heritage signs.
Car Parking: The Fremlin Walk multi-storey car park is opposite Maidstone Museum.
The car park in Palace Avenue is next to the Carriage Museum.
Public Transport: Search for timetables by service number, destination or postcode.
Train: Our nearest train station is Maidstone East. The rear of the Museum is a 2 minute walk through Brenchley Gardens. If you travel via the Medway Valley Line, alight at Maidstone Barracks and take a 5 minute walk over the bridge, following the Maidstone East rail tracks to Maidstone East Station.

Travelling between Museums
Walking
From Maidstone Museum to the Carriage Museum: Turn left as you exit the front courtyard and walk uphill towards Week Street. Turn right at Week Street and follow it through town and down Gabriel’s Hill. Turn right at the bottom of Gabriel’s Hill and cross over the crossing. Follow the road round past the Police Station and car parks and turn left at the large junction. The Carriage Museum is on your left.
From The Carriage Museum to Maidstone Museum: Turn right as you exit the Museum and take the first right at the large junction. Follow the traffic past the Police Station and cross the road near Gala Bingo. Walk up Gabriel’s Hill, and cross straight over onto Week Street. Turn left at Maplins and Maidstone Museum is downhill on the right hand side.
By Car
From Maidstone Museum to the Carriage Museum: Continue forward onto Waterside, turn left onto the A229 and follow the signs for Hastings / Town Centre, bearing left. The Palace Avenue car park is on your right, opposite the Rootes Peugeot garage. Exit the car park in the far right corner, and you will see the Carriage Museum to your left.
Alternatively, pass the Palace Avenue car park, bear right past Gala Bingo, turn 1st right and stay in the right hand lane. Turn right again at the traffic lights and the Museum is on your right. Parking here is very limited.
From the Carriage Museum to Maidstone Museum: Follow the one-way system and immediately bear left past the Archbishops Palace into Bishops Way. Follow signs for the A229 (Signposted Chatham, M2, M20). With the river on your left, follow the brown heritage
